Survey answered with diligence and constructive criticism

RECENTLY THERE IS A SENSITIVE QUESTIONNAIRE SURVEY SPREAD AROUND BY NRP(Nepa Rastriya Party) Executives who still have not been able to come out of their KOTHE ANDOLAN ABHIYAAN. The questions are sensitive but still sounds so funny and silly to me. WHY? READ THE FEEDBACK BELOW:

On 1/21/08, Tayeju .u ..u <tayeju@gmail.com> wrote: Please send your comment and suggestion for Nepa Rastriya Party in allaspect. Prioritywise

1. Who could be the candidates :
answers:
- Not those who do the kothe andolan
- Not those who dare not make the policy making participatory
- Not those who know sources of business income to mobilize and attract capitalist opportunists

2. Who could be the members of the party :
answers:
- Anyone above 18 years of age with residence in the valley
- Anyone with a Nepami: identity (Newars)
- Organizational memberships for Non newars (to control activities of non-newarikaran)

3. Do you accept duel membership:
comments:
- What the hell does this mean? You want Newars involved in Royal Politics?? or the NRNs/ Capitalists turned UML who dare not think beyond capital mobility and their monetary audits or those who run organizations like govt. projects that brings policies to their heresay? Think of it.... A BIG NO NO to dual membership, smells dangerous! (whose question is this anyways? Mr. Moderator's save-face technique?)

4. What would be your contribution to the party :
comments:
- Ask not what nation does for you, ask what you can do for the nation!!! This is applicable even to the executive members of NRP! Don't just make scapegoats out of the Nepamis who become aware of their wounds! Will anyone ever try healing the wound?
Ask not what members can do for you, ASK what your NRP can do for your members, particularly to assure youth participation!!

5. What is your expectation from the party :
Opinions:
- NRP leaders will believe in participatory approach (inclusion is the hot word these days) not the Kothe baithak of the limited executives!

- NRP leaders will release their plan of action for regional autonomy and their initial limitations spelled out clearly whether it is a national or regional party.

- NRP leaders will do a cleansweeping of NETAs who are failures in their own areas (Think of NBMK performance, we don't want another movement that sounds like annual New Year Festival Program and Motorcycle rallies!!!)

- NRP will have exemplary leaders who are people oriented, goes among them, live among them and builds for them

- NRP shows concrete step in identifying Royalists within and terminate them from this party

6. How can party mobilize to all Nepal

- Spell out your initial limitations (is it focused on regional autonomy?Nepal Mandal?)

- Spell out and create a network of the organizational process to reach out to Newars

- Mobilize youth on taking the factual database of Newar origin people throughout Nepal Secondary plan will reach out to networking with other ethnic groups of nepal with representation of related ethnic groups...

WHAT? WANT MORE?? Do you want an advisor or is it just a mere play to check who falls into your boot of thoughts?? Improvise your thoughts and action moderator!!!

HIT THE IRON WHEN IT'S HOT OTHERWISE NRP WILL FAIL TO SHAPE UP THE NATIONALITY FEELING OF NEPALBHASA LOVERS AND TAKE THE MOVEMENT A STEP FURTHER IN FAILURE LIKE THE 022 BHASA ANDOLAN!

GOOD LUCK TO THE NRP AND THE TAYEJU MODERATOR!

Before youth finally rest in peace?
And how many bird-men should us young locate,
Before we finally find word-men?
How many Newars must we youth दिस्कोंनेक्ट
Before we find our own mother within?
I said how many netas must newa thinkers link,
Finally to see one of us teaming strong?

The answer my friend is blowing in this चैन

Expressing yourself is crucial than miscommunicating for many of us youth
So express your innerself on Newa issues without haste

SAVE ME FROM NEGATIVITY OF MY BELOVED NEWARISM!

Throughout history as i know of so far, newars have been the happy living fools being ruled with confused pride that Nepal Mandal is their own kingdom while their history were looted and remade in the name of festivities that we are so proud of.

The kings have only further confused their beliefs and took the reduced few elites into their hands to manipulate people powers into what they wanted...The machhindranath festival is the example outcome of centralized governance of the Mallas and transformation into Nath culture...read John K. Locke "Karunamaya". This strategy is still going on as the Newa leaders today are either manipulated or they know of the same old power sharing ideas through which they can both live close to the powers and manipulate the people. Existing 27 years of Bhasa Andolan and waking up people every Nepal Sambat is the example...where are we after longest annual movement of nepal???? Ah, yes, PM has started to mention it in his official letterhead and we again are supposed to dig further for the gold mentioned about Sankhadhar Sakhwa in the skeleton rivers of Bishnumati again! That's when the powers will agree to the noble reason because they'll have something to excuse the debts of Nepalese!!!

The so called uniting king Prithvi Narayan Shah koo-ed the Newars after make-belief about his power as a Newa: king by simply taking tika from the Kumari. People already ruled by confused Dharma and helpless psyche of (tantra shaktis) god's fury, simply accepted because goddess blessed him with Tika! What bad would it be when goddess has accepted her right? When will our brains wake up to the fact that Kumari would never say no to give blessings to anyone who visits her, including the powerless Gyanendra this year! She's divine and divine would not ignore powerless and accept powers only. She's supposed to love all and she will even if she knew the visitor was faking it. What we need is breaking this trend of blind faiths not just in politics, but also in our culture where there's lack of logical thinking, craving for true meanings and deep rooted references.

What am I expecting??? Newars are busy all the year to take this burden of looking into cleansweeping the old-fashioned-vote-me-to-vote-for-power syndrome! So rule on while roots of history is further demolished....bringing us to next brahmin level ! carry on, save Nepal Sambat as Newa pride and debate it belongs to all nepalese while most of us are so proud that we don't let people write New Year Nepal Sambat in other language nor try broadmindedly to convince them! May Young Sankhadhar Sakhwa reborn, save us as the true nationalist!

Newar culture and monarchy

Newars and monarchy have been so close to each-other for two thousand years that they seem to be two sides of a coin. Now, time has come for us to think what monarchy has given to us.
It is not a matter of question whether the Newars (as a community) participated in the Jana Antolan II or not. The reality we cannot run away from is that the change has come. The king is paid for what he had done and now he is nowhere. Whether we like it or not, we have to accept this reality, being citizens of this very country.
A series of historic changes have come in past two years or so. The king is devoid of every right, which he used to boast as divine. His chair is no more polished in the Parliament and his shoes are not polished in the royal palace. But it seems that the Newars are still fond of this very king, or generally speaking, the Shah monarchy.
What we see is that if Newars believe in any political system, it is monarchy (of Gyanendra's type) and if the king trusts anybody as saviors, they have to be the Newars. That is why the king is now surrounded by the Newars and if there are any who are ready to chant "Sri Panch Maharajdhiraj ko Jay", they are the Newars.
One of the reasons the Newars are attached to the monarchy is their love for culture. They believe that the Newar culture is a donation of the Shah kings and the culture cannot sustain without the king's "ashirbad". Is it really true?
Let us take the example to this Dashain, or say, "Mohani". The king made his ritual pilgrimage around Shakti piths during the Dashain (including the Nawadurga temple in Bhaktapur) and there were stereotype group of Newars to welcomed him and did the century-old "chakadi". And I was surprised to see some Newars going to Narayan Hiti Darbar in the evening with their dhimays to received Tika from him. When the whole country have forgotten what relation they used to have with the king, how come the handful of Newars are still not ready to accept the great historical change and transformation of power?
It is sure that those handfuls of blind devotees are not to be blamed. They are indeed guided by the some very skilled, experienced and old Rajabadi Newar leaders. The crux is the problem – you can find pro-royalist Newars everywhere in Newar organizations – from Nepalbhasha Mankaa Khalaa to Ganatantrik Newa Morcha. In this situation, it is very difficult to make a plan to say anything against the king and for the sake fo the people's sovereignty.
Our blind devotion to powerless king is going to take us nowhere and if, it is certainly to a marsh. And our future generation is sure to curse us for our mistake that will be a cause for their embarrassment.
So, we have to think seriously and made a historic decision now. If we want to live in this very country and keep the glorious image or our century old heritage, we have to accept the truth and try to continue our culture without the king who will soon be no more.
Let us be clear that it was not the Shah kings who give continuity to our culture but we, the Newars ourselves who enlivened it despite political and economic hurdles. If the Shah kings have done anything in past 238 years, they only destroyed, shattered and torn our culture apart. Let's imagine of our culture where there will be no king but all people will live like the kings have lived in past two centuries. Subhay.

Jwajalapa

We are a small unnamed group of people, based in the Kathamndu Valley, who want to look at the on-going Newar movement closely. We are not happy with the participation of the Newars in the political agenda and want to see how the old orthodox leadership be revitalized through massive participation of young and new ideas.

Please help us to share with new ideas and come up with candid comments.
